Story
Summary
The Noor Project's fundraiser focuses on a girls' home that provides a secure haven for orphaned girls. It offers shelter, meals, education, healthcare, and essentials, aiming to improve their quality of life. The project supports these girls by ensuring their basic needs are met, seeking donations to sustain the program at $97 per girl per month or $1,200 per girl per year.
Challenge
Caring for orphaned or disadvantaged girls necessitates a nuanced approach. Their needs are complex and demand careful attention. The challenge lies in providing not just physical amenities but creating an environment that fosters safety, love, and genuine care—a true home, rather than a mere shelter.
Solution
The project refrains from labeling itself as an "orphanage"but instead emphasizes the concept of a "girls' home,"reflecting the essence of their mission—to offer a safe, loving, and caring environment. The current setup includes shared rooms with individualized touches, providing various facilities like prayer rooms, libraries, computer labs, dining areas, and recreational spaces.
Long-Term Impact
The initiative has already positively impacted 80 girls, 85% of whom are orphans or have single parents. By expanding their capacity to accommodate more girls, the long-term goal is to extend this care to a greater number of vulnerable children. The aim is to create a lasting impact by continuing to provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for these girls, offering them a sense of family and belonging.
