Tropical Storm Megi Relief and Recovery
Story

We will provide food, hygiene kits and livelihood support for 1,200 families in Leyte affected by Tropical Storm Megi (local name: Agaton). The Tropical storm is the first for this year to hit the country resulting to massive flooding and loss of livelihoods among thousands of families. We will provide food packs, hygiene kits such as soap and livelihood support to families affected by the tropical storm.

Impact

The well-being of families and entire communities needs to be taken cared of especially during natural disaster. Providing immediate relief followed by long-term support is very much needed to ensure that communities become resilient and able to withstand disasters.

Challenge

Tropical Storm Megi (local name: Agaton) devastated many villages in Leyte and there is a need to provide direct assistance to affected families. Of immediate needs are food and hygiene supplies and later on with small livelihood fund in order for families to survive. We have maintained a sub-station in Leyte equipped with volunteers and logistics and we will mobilize them in order to respond to the needs of local population.
