Story

This project will keep 15 children and 4 university students in school this year. Enhance Worldwide will provide 15 children with uniforms, shoes, backpacks, books, personal hygiene and nutritious food to learn, grow and succeed. The project will provide 4 young women enrolled in university studies with tuition, books, and food while also supporting their tuition and providing transportation.

Impact

This project will provide another year of education to these girls and young women, keeping them on track to complete their education and empower their futures. For each year a girl is in school, she'll earn more and increase her odds of getting- and staying-out of poverty. Educated girls marry later and have fewer and healthier children, and they are more likely to send their daughters to school. By keeping these girls in school, we are creating safe and dignified pathways to empowered futures.

Challenge

Last year, Enhance Worldwide sent ten children and three young women to school, and without our support they cannot return to the classroom this fall. Dropping out of school puts girls' futures at risk and causes immediate dangers. Instead of being in the safety of their schools, children as young as 8 may need to work to support their families. Adolescents may be married off. Some children may resort to begging, putting them at risk for sexual harassment, assault and trafficking.
