School for Indigenous teenagers in Nayar, Mexico
Story
We will build a self-sustainable and self-sustainable boarding school in the Sierra del Nayar, Mexico for 400 young leaders who live in vulnerable contexts such as illiteracy, marginalization, extreme poverty, etc. Providing them with integral quality education at the secondary and high school level by granting 100% scholarships, forming their personal, artistic, sports, and academic areas, through life skills from transcendence to excellence that are a characteristic pillar of our pedagogy.
Impact
The completed project will educate 400 adolescents per year, allowing them to continue their studies, overcome their poverty and obtain better opportunities. We will also reduce negative indices such as school dropouts, delinquency, drug use and extreme poverty, which are problems associated with the lack of quality education. The purpose is giving them an opportunity so they can improve their life and communities through our education which guides their leadership.
Challenge
Adolescents in the indigenous community of Nayar live in a vulnerable situation in terms of school dropout, extreme poverty, drug use and delinquency. This is due to the lack of access to quality education and the difficulty of transportation. Young people have to travel 3 to 5 hours to reach the cities where there are schools. Given this problem, adolescents do not have the opportunity to continue their studies, prosper and overcome the aforementioned problems.
