Cityzens Giving For Recovery - Mumbai
Story
In Mumbai, OSCAR Foundation will set up Digital Learning Centres in communities where children can attend courses on computer skills and access the online resources assigned to them as part of the school curriculum.
Impact
Children will have a greater interest in learning and drop-out rates will be reduced. They will also have better prospects of getting a job in the future and improving the income for their families.
Challenge
In Mumbai, the impact of the Coronavirus crisis has been particularly challenging for children. Many of them are confined to home or have returned to their family villages. They are unable to go to school. When schools do return the challenge will be maintaining social distancing and, to address this, schools will share a large portion of the curriculum online. Many children from the most disadvantaged families may miss out further due to limited computer and internet access.
