In a slum, where most people live below the poverty line, girls and women education takes the back seat. Poverty, underdevelopment, mass illiteracy, ignorance, urban backwardness and conservatism cause a majority of girls in slums to be deprived of their basic right to education. Various other social problems such as child marriage, trafficking and discrimination leads toward the undermining of girl's right to education. Limited access to education means many are stuck.

Poultry project was decided upon due to the urgent need to extend educational support to more children at our centers and also provide children at the centers with food, skills for development and endorse their free time into productivity. In our community many children have been traumatized by the loss of their parents, abandoned due to extreme poverty . Mentor Orphans Africa provides shelters, food , Free Education and Healthy care to these vulnerable , orphaned children, Among these are HIV/ AIDS victims. due to the covid-19 pandemic, we cannot give basic needs due to situation changes in our country of limited movement, doubled prices.Apparently, our children feed on porridge for both breakfast and supper.

Mentor Orphans Africa is non-governmental, not for profit organization that was established to help support orphaned and vulnerable children access basic needs i.e. better health services, education, and shelter among others. MOA fosters a dignified and protected life for children who have fallen victim to the scourge of poverty, solitude and are at the risk of HIV/AIDS. We aim at restoring hope and lobby opportunities for OVC in Uganda.

The project targets to enable the orphans to resume school amidst the covid-19 after the government announced school reopening Guidelines and SOPs which are essential for every institution and require immediate funding therefore our aim is to offer full free education to the orphans under our care which includes the finalist that will seat for their exams march early next year. we need to expand our classroom blocks , toilets and dormitories for social distancing, teachers quarters, sick bay.
