Where Generosity Meets Purpose.

In Limpopo, South Africa, young girls skip school during their menstrual period because they can't afford hygiene products. We provide washable, reusable pads to these girls so that they can stay in school. Longterm, we will help limit the ecological damage caused by disposable pads being thrown into rivers and on the streets in rural areas where there is no municipal trash collection. This project will also create jobs and seamstress training for local women in our Sewing Project to make pads.

Through this project, Polycom Development Project aims to support 1000 girls in Kibera Slums to complete high school through rights awareness programs, educational scholarship, sports , hygiene and sanitation. Girls in Kibera face many challenges; lack of basic needs like pads and panties, manipulation and sexual harassment, lack of hope to further their education due to poverty and most of all lack of people/platforms with whom to share their problems. This project will respond to these needs.

Women in Kanyawegi village work hard operating small scale businesses selling vegetables, cereals fabric, potato chips and household goods to support their families. Through table banking, the women access microloans of $10 to $50 to operate their businesses with the profits mainly used to pay school fees for their children, feed their families and pay for healthcare. Covid 19 pandemic has disrupted most of these businesses and the women need financial assistance to bounce back again
